Vintage bayonet, overall measures about 15 1/8" long, marked near hilt on one side is Jos. Corts Sn, on the opposite side is 2157, under the wood handle on one side is WaA 281. According to the information I found on line the best I can tell by the numbers & markings found this would have been from the late 30's, 1938 or 1939 but am not positive as I am not a collector of these items. Wood handles are intact but show lots of wear/stains, also have cracks started. Item has not been restored, only did a very light cleaning so I could read the markings for this listing. Also, I did not attempt to loosen the nut at the tip of the handle, appears to need a special tool that I do not have and I did not want to damage it in any way. Also did not try to loosen the release button, it does not move. Cutting edge appears to be in fairly good condition without a lot of nicks, dents or dings. Top edge of blade does have a few though. Metal has some surface rust as pictured, has pitting and stains. No scabbard found with this bayonet. Item is being sold in as is condition without returns offered, sales are final.
