    Description

USS Augusta "Crossing The Equator" CRUISE BOOK 1936, Admiral H. E. Yarnell, Commander in Chief United States Asiatic Fleet.  This is a record of the USS Augusta crossing the equator during its cruise to the Dutch East Indies and lists her crew and tells the story of procedures and ritual of the crossing , the Neptune Party and the rituals on the "pollywogs" upon the crossing.  A very interesting glimpse into life aboard a Navy ship at this time in history.
