Historical notes (from the official website 'Latvijas Valsts Prezidents'):
The order was created in honor of the 20th anniversary of independence of Republic of Latvia (1918-1940)
The first Order of Viesturs was awarded on Nov 17,1938; the last - on June 13, 1940.
There are 2 divisions: military (with swords) and civilian (without swords) and  five classes.
During the 'lifetime' of the order 390 class IV were awarded (both military and civilian)
Comes from an estate, good condition
