You are bidding on an iconic Walt Disney’s Pinocchio Ceramica De Cuernavaca Wall Mask Plaque from the 1960’s
It is in Good Condition for being 60+ Years Old!
The kindly old puppet-maker Geppetto created the lovable Pinocchio who wanted to become a real boy!
In the 1940's and 50's there were many "nameless" ceramic facilities in Mexico making Disney ceramics. The ceramics were supposedly licensed through the Evan K. Shaw Company as some examples have been seen with Shaw paper labels.
The CERAMICA de CUERNAVACA COMPANY (Cuenavaca, Mexico) became an Official Disney licensee in the 1960's. Cuernavaca produced some great Disney characters in the shapes of Wall Masks, Banks and Cookie Jars.
You are bidding a Ceramic Pinocchio Wall Mask made by the CERAMICA de CUERNAVACA COMPANY. There are no chips, cracks or breaks on this ceramic piece. Judging from the back of the mask, it does appear to be one of those early pieces prior to the 1960’s since it hangs from the top.
It also shows wear from age and has some areas that have been touched up with paint. There are a few areas that are not covered by paint, however, they are covered by glaze and therefore a part of the original manufacturing. There is typical crazing which can be expected on pieces of this age.
This Pinocchio Wall Mask measures 5 1/2” tall by 6” wide. It is in good condition for its 60+ years. It will be packaged very carefully for shipping. Don’t miss out on this great early piece!
