Description
(10) 25' rolls. While this is technically a "low-density" foam, it is significantly denser than the open-cell stuff commonly found in big box stores. Note the deflection on inner layers when outer layer is squeezed, in photo. Clean material surfaces with alcohol or appropriate solvent before applying tape to ensure adhesion. From the manufacturer:
Soft, Closed-Cell, Polyvinyl Chloride Foam
Saint Gobain NORSEAL® V770 is a closed-cell, low density PVC foam sealant with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on one
side.
The NORSEAL V770 series is specially designed to provide the following features:
• Low density foam suitable for sealing of thin gauge metals and plastics
• 30% compression provides an excellent seal against light, dust and water in mechanically fastened assemblies
• Excellent resistance to weather, fungi and oxidation provides a long sealing life
• Will not crack in cold temperatures
• Superb closed cell structure of foam provides a positive seal
• Low force to compress means faster and easier formation of a positive seal
• Flexibility facilitates use in radius corners
• Low density sealant allows easy assembly of large wall systems
• Flame resistant to meet FMVSS 302
Because Saint-Gobain cannot anticipate or control every potential application, we strongly recommend testing of this product
under individual application conditions prior to commercial use. The product contains plasticizer, which may adversely affect
some plastics.
• Surfaces must be clean and free of oil, grease, moisture, dust and dirt. Isopropyl alcohol is good for cleaning the surface. Do not
remove liner until tape is in proper position. Avoid touching adhesive surface before application. The adhesive is intended for
positioning during the assembly process. The foam tape is secured in the joint by compression of the adjacent substrates.
• The application temperature should be between 40°F and 125°F (4°C to 52°C). It is not recommended to apply these sealants at
temperatures below 40°F (16°C), as the adhesive does not flow in this condition and can result in poor bonding. Recommended
service temperature is between -15°F to 160°F (-26°C to 71°C).
